Insider risk relates to people working within an organization to subvert the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information contained within the walls of that entity. Public Safety Canada is pleased to provide an informative and insightful talk where participants will hear case studies of related events and learn what organizations can do today to protect their systems from the “threat from within.”

Following the keynote presentation, the utility leaders panel will discuss highlights of the current response to COVID-19 in the water sector and how incident management systems can assist with crisis leadership when having to deal with a “disaster within a disaster.” Hear about best practices seen in Canada in processes and resources, and how municipalities and water utilities supported a multi-agency approach through coordination and communication.

Speakers include:

  • Moderator: Ian Mcilwham—Compliance Manager at the Regional Municipality of Durham, and Chair of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association’s (CWWA) Security and Emergency Committee
  • Speaker: Robert Pitcher—Manager of Critical Infrastructure Partnerships at Public Safety Canada
  • Speaker: Gregory Solecki—Director of Crisis Leadership—Pandemic Response at Sandhurst Consulting
