In response to a Request for Qualifications issued on January 20 for the design, build, financing, and maintenance of the new long-term care facility in Corner Brook, five teams have submitted proposals. The facility will include 120 long-term care beds, 15 palliative care beds, and 10 rehabilitative care beds. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2017.

The following teams have responded to the Request for Qualifications:

  • Corner Brook Care Partnership
  • Crow Hill Care Solutions
  • Infraworks
  • KMK Capital
  • Lark Group

Details regarding each team can be found at: www.tw.gov.nl.ca/works/LTCTeamList.pdf.

Following the evaluation of the submissions, a short list of candidates will be identified and a Request for Proposals will be issued to those firms for the design, build, financing, and maintenance of the long-term care facility.

The evaluation is being monitored by a fairness advisor, a key component of the procurement process. RFP Solutions Inc. was selected to provide fairness advisory services through a Request for Proposals.

The new long-term care facility will be located on the same campus as the new acute care regional hospital being built, which includes 164 beds for acute care. The RFP for that project was issued on February 17 of this year.

Construction of the LTC facility is scheduled to begin in fall 2017.
