Toronto Pearson selects Jacobs as owner’s representative for LIFT program

Jacobs has been selected as an owner’s representative by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) for the Toronto Pearson International Airport Long-Term Investments in Facilities and Terminals (LIFT) Gateway program. Pearson LIFT is part of the airport’s capital plan to address immediate growth while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of travel.

Passenger demand at Toronto Pearson is expected to reach 65 million annually by the early 2030s, necessitating significant infrastructure expansion and upgrades. Jacobs will provide program management, construction management and technical advisory services for the program, which includes expanding Toronto Pearson’s terminal facilities to support mid-term growth.

“GTAA’s investment will modernize and improve existing infrastructure and access at Canada’s busiest airport,” says Jacobs Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Sales Canada Heather MacDonald. “Leveraging our global experience on similar programs, we’ll help deliver a smart, future-ready facility that supports the airport’s commitment to advancing sustainability and creates a world-class experience for travelers, securing Toronto Pearson’s future as a leader in the aviation industry.”

In August, the GTAA selected the Pearson Accelerator Construction Team (PACT) to lead the planning, design and construction of the Accelerator program, delivering vital upgrades and revitalization of airport assets.
