The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to engage a multidisciplinary consulting team to undertake a comprehensive assessment of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.
The work will examine both the current condition of the existing hospital buildings and the potential for expansion that could support additional acute care services and extend the facility’s useful life.
“This assessment of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital is an important next step in our commitment to deliver quality health care for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. I look forward to the results of this study, which will give us the information we need to make critical decisions about the future of health care infrastructure for all of us,” said Joedy Wall, Minister of Health and Community Services.
Through a competitive procurement process, the Provincial Government is seeking a qualified consulting team to complete a detailed facility condition assessment, accessibility review, environmental and hazardous materials investigations, and an expansion feasibility study. The assessment will identify required upgrades, estimate future capital investment needs, and explore options for expanding the site.
The study will provide critical information to support long-term health infrastructure planning and future decision-making regarding the role of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in meeting the region’s growing health care needs.
