VRCA honours industry’s best at 2025 Annual Awards of Excellence Gala

The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) announced the winners of its prestigious Gold Awards at the 36th Annual Awards of Excellence Gala. The Gala is the signature event for B.C.’s $29 billion construction industry, bringing together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from across the province and celebrating the sector’s continued growth and impact.

In its 36th year, the VRCA Awards of Excellence spotlights the exceptional work of the Association’s member companies. In this year’s competition, 96 nominations were received, representing 75 unique projects and representing nearly $5 billion in construction value. The projects were assessed by a panel of industry experts against pre-set criteria that included project management, financial performance, team collaboration, safety practices, as well as inclusion of minority groups. From the original 96 submissions, a total of 18 project categories were determined. Each category had up to three Silver Award winners, which were announced in July, and one Gold Award winner.

“This year marked one of the most competitive years yet,” said Jeannine Martin, president of the VRCA. “Each nominee should be incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Our Silver and Gold Award winners were chosen from among the best of the best, demonstrating excellence through innovative solutions to construction and supply chain challenges, as well as successful and meaningful efforts to include diverse groups, including Indigenous peoples.”

In addition to Gold Award winners, the Awards of Excellence Gala also announces the winners of the Outstanding Achievement Awards. New this year is the Inclusive Leadership in Construction Award category that recognizes an individual or organization that actively advances equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. Other award categories include the Safety Excellence Awards, Heritage Award, and Young Construction Leader (YCL) Excellence in Construction Award.

“The companies and individuals we honour tonight are defining the future of construction,” said Martin. “Through leadership, innovation, and collaboration, they are proving that our industry is not only building infrastructure but also strengthening the economy and improving lives across the region.”
