About The Project

The new 735-kilovolt transmission line will connect Hydro-Québec’s Micoua and Saguenay substations. The line will run roughly 262 kilometres through the Côte-Nord region (approx. 200 kilometres north of Quebec City) northwest through to the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. The new line will help strengthen the reliability of the transmission system in the province. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2023. The last contracts were awarded in 2021, all the deforestation of the 262-kilometre line was completed in 2021.
