Canada Life Place announcde the successful topping off in the next step of its Elevation Project, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of its back-of-house facilities. The Elevation Project also includes comprehensive upgrades to concessions, all designed to enhance the venue’s ability to support large-scale events and provide an elevated experience for both performers and guests. The topping off ceremony celebrates major progress in the construction phase of the expansion and highlights the continued transformation of Canada Life Place into a more dynamic, flexible, and guest-focused entertainment venue.
“We are incredibly proud to be a part of Canada Life Place’s continued transformation,” said Peter Luukko, co-chairman, OVG360 of Oak View Group. “Our investment in the Elevation Project reflects our commitment to enhancing the live experience. By upgrading the venue’s facilities, we are not only boosting its capability to host top-tier events but also contributing to London’s reputation as a cultural and entertainment hub.”
The City of London is actively supporting the expansion of Canada Life Place by committing significant funding toward these improvements. In September 2024, London City Council approved a $26.7 million investment to upgrade the arena. By upgrading facilities for large-scale performances, international tours, and exclusive events, the venue will help stimulate the local economy through increased traffic to businesses, hotels, and attractions. These improvements, including upgrades to both back-of-house facilities and concessions, will elevate the experience for all involved, solidifying London’s reputation as a premier cultural and entertainment destination.
“This milestone is a testament to the strength of the partnerships behind this project,” said Randy Reymer, senior vice president & Area Manager, Southwestern Ontario. “To return to a venue we built more than two decades ago and help shape its next chapter is incredibly meaningful. Being a part of this legacy is one our entire team does not take lightly. We know that this venue will continue to support those who live in London and those who visit for an amazing night out – either at a hockey game or for a concert. This partnership was one full of heart and we couldn’t be prouder to work with our partners at Canada Life and the City of London to get to this milestone.”
In addition to the back-of-house expansion, the Elevation Project includes extensive renovations to Canada Life Place’s concession areas. Several newly renovated concession stands are now open, with the remainder of the upgrades nearing completion. These enhancements are designed to provide guests with faster, more convenient service, reducing wait times and improving the overall event-day experience.
“This investment in Canada Life Place marks an exciting milestone for our city,” said Josh Morgan, Mayor of London. “By supporting this project, we are not only improving an important venue for our residents but also ensuring that London continues to attract major international events and visitors from around the world. These upgrades will play a vital role in driving tourism, supporting local businesses, and boosting our city’s cultural and economic growth.”
