The Government of Quebec announced investments of more than $2.5 billion over the next two years in the road transportation networks of the Montreal ($1,413,209,000) and Capitale-Nationale ($1,171,300,000) regions.
“Since 2018, our government has chosen to invest ever more in our infrastructure, particularly in transportation, to make up for the underinvestment of previous governments and provide quality infrastructure to Quebecers. In the context of economic unpredictability we are currently experiencing, this choice is particularly wise, since each project creates jobs, supports our businesses, particularly those targeted by American tariffs, and stimulates the economy in all regions of Quebec. What’s more, one of the best ways to help our industries remain competitive through this transition to new markets and a redefined economy is to offer them optimal logistical conditions, namely efficient transportation networks. Investing so much is therefore an ambitious choice, but extremely strategic for our citizens and our economy,” said Geneviève Guilbault, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
