EXP has announced the appointment of Reece Bailey as executive vice president, major projects, to lead the Major Projects sector based in Ottawa. Bailey brings to EXP over 25 years of experience in transit and rail design, operations, facilities, and systems engineering.

EXP already boasts a portfolio of major transit and infrastructure projects, including the recently announced Hurontario LRT and Pattullo Bridge, Davenport Diamond project, Toronto Union Station, Chicago’s Red-Purple Line, and Montreal’s Blue Line Extension.

“Across North America, we continue to execute on our strategic vision of leading world-class transportation projects,” says Mark Dvorak, president and COO of EXP. “With the addition of Reece, we see a great opportunity to bolster our presence in the public-private partnerships (P3) and Design Build market and successfully pursue and deliver significant projects that benefit mass transportation, mobility and accessibility.”

Bailey has led several major alternative delivery projects, including the design and commissioning of new subway, light rail and commuter rail systems, stations, extensions of heavy rail networks, freight and depot facilities, highways, bridges, and tunnels. He has managed and directed large design-build projects with capital costs over USD$10 billion and has led multidisciplinary teams to successfully meet major milestones with tight deadlines. He has also provided strategic advice to government agencies on major transit systems, working in over 15 different countries including India, Kazakhstan, USA, Canada, Brazil, Hungary, Dubai, UAE and the British Isles.
