About The Project

The Bowmanville Extension will extend the Lakeshore East GO Line nearly 20 kilometres to Bowmanville and includes: new track and signal infrastructure; seven new bridges, including a new rail alignment over Highway 401; bridge reconstruction and existing bridge modifications; utility relocations; and at-grade crossing upgrades. In 2024, GO Transit announced that works would begin on the future Ritson Road GO Train station.
