About The Project

Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) is undertaking improvements to Deerfoot Trail, the province’s busiest freeway that sees over 180,000 vehicles per day in some sections. Since Deerfoot Trail was initially constructed in the 1970s, Calgary’s population has doubled. The Province announced in October 2024 the completion of new connections at Beddington Trail NW and 11 Street NE. Improvements to Deerfoot Trail are being completed in distinct projects, prioritizing the most congested areas. It is estimated that the remaining Deerfoot Trail improvements will be complete by fall 2027.
