About The Project

The Kitchener GO extension will enhance train service over its outermost segment to offer a versatile regional travel option that runs outside rush hour. To enable two-way, all-day service on the Kitchener Line from Union Station to Kitchener GO, improvements will be made along the rail corridor and to some existing stations on the Kitchener Line. A key package of work between Georgetown and Kitchener was completed in 2024, including: a 2.6 km passing track in Breslau; a new second platform at Guelph Central GO Station; and the new storage track for maintenance vehicles west of Guelph.
