Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Hamilton Health Sciences have prequalified three teams to design, build and finance the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital redevelopment project in Grimsby, Ont.

Amico Sacyr Alliance, EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare and Pomerleau Healthcare Partners are among those shortlisted.

The project will involve the construction of a new, larger hospital on the property behind the existing facility to serve the West Niagara community.

A request for proposals is expected to be issued to these prequalified teams in summer 2021, indicates a release issued April 26. IO and Hamilton Health Sciences will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred team and then negotiate a final contract. The successful team is expected to be announced in spring 2022.

The Amico Sacyr Alliance includes: Amico Design Build Inc. (50 per cent), Sacyr Construction S.A (50 per cent) as applicant lead and construction team; IBI Group Architects Canada as the design team; and financial adviser Operis Business Engineering Limited.

EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare includes EllisDon Corporation as applicant lead and construction team; design team Parkin Architects Limited; and financial adviser EllisDon Capital Inc.

Pomerleau Healthcare partners includes Pomerleau Inc. as applicant lead, construction team and financial adviser and design team Cumulus Architects Inc and WalterFedy.

Teams were prequalified based on criteria identified in a request for qualifications process that began in November 2020.
