Calgary expands AtkinsRéalis’ role as the Delivery Partner for Green Line LRT

AtkinsRéalis announced it has taken on an expanded role with the City of Calgary under its existing mandate as the Delivery Partner for the Calgary Green Line LRT. Originally appointed in 2022, the Company will now provide technical and project management expertise including engineering and design, procurement support, construction management, and commercial services to support the delivery of Phase 1 of the LRT line.

“Our renowned expertise in transportation includes work on Canada’s and the world’s largest, most complex rail transit systems,” said Stéphanie Vaillancourt, president, Canada, AtkinsRéalis. “We have acted as a Delivery Partner to various levels of government to design, build, operate and maintain integrated systems that are safe and reliable. We’ll continue to bring our experience to this project that is critical to Calgary’s prosperity, competitiveness, as well as its economic and social vitality.”

The Green Line is the largest infrastructure investment in Calgary’s history. The SE Segment, from Shepard in the southeast to the Event Centre/Grand Central Station in the Beltline, will be the first 16 kilometres of an overall 46-kilometre LRT infrastructure, before connecting with the future Downtown Segment and into the existing Red and Blue LRT Lines. Including the Downtown Segment, Phase 1 will include 17.2 kilometres of twin-track LRT infrastructure with 12 new stations.
