The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has named new CEOs for the both the Western Regional Health Authority and the Labrador-Grenfell Regional Health Authority.

Cynthia Davis has been appointed the new CEO of the Western Regional Health Authority, effective June 1, 2018. Davis has approximately 20 years of experience in healthcare including community nursing and working in large academic teaching facilities and university affiliated community hospitals.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we welcome Ms. Davis into her new role and thank Dr. Susan Gillam as outgoing CEO for her dedication and service to the organization,” said Bryson Webb, chair of Western Health’s board of trustees of the Western Regional Health Authority. “The appointment of Ms. Davis as CEO is an exciting and important milestone for Western Health.”

Heather Brown has been appointed the new CEO of the Labrador-Grenfell Regional Health Authority, effective June 18, 2018. Brown has approximately 25 years of experience in healthcare across the continuum of care, including community health, rural emergency and acute care services, and long term and complex care.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to welcome Heather Brown to Labrador-Grenfell Health,” said Boyd Noel, chair of the board of trustees. “I am confident her knowledge and extensive experience in healthcare will be a great asset to the region we serve as well as within our organization.”

Both appointments are for a five-year term.
