Peel Region announced that Caledon and North Brampton are one step closer to a healthier and safer community as construction officially begins on a new paramedic reporting station.
In 2024, Peel Regional Paramedic Services responded to 148,000 emergency calls. With Peel’s population growing and aging, call volumes are expected to more than double by 2036.
“Investing in new infrastructure, ambulances and staffing is essential to ensuring residents receive timely and appropriate care when they call 911. This new paramedic station is a critical step in preparing for the future,” said Paramedic Chief Brian Gibson.
The Docksteader paramedic reporting station will be Peel’s fifth and largest, spanning more than 84,000 square feet. It will include:
- An interior vehicle bay for parking 60 ambulances – 35 more than our largest existing reporting station
- A dedicated make-ready area to enable the cleaning, restocking, inspection and preparation of ambulances before they go back into service
- Purpose-built space for paramedic training
- Office space for management and administrative staff to provide operational support, and for paramedics to have pre-shift meetings
- State-of-the-art storage solutions for equipment, supplies and medications
- Locker, fitness and prayer rooms

The new facility will also be a certified zero carbon building, demonstrating Peel Region’s commitment to fighting against climate change.
Along with Fernforest, Rising Hill, Streetsville and Tomken reporting stations, Docksteader will serve as a key hub where paramedics start and end their shifts. The facility will operate 24/7 with logistics technicians on site to ensure ambulances are ready for the next patient. It will also serve as a home base for some Community Paramedics, supporting their work within Caledon and North Brampton.
“Peel Regional Paramedic Services is proud to be a pillar in our communities. We hope our expanded presence helps residents feel safe and supported knowing help is always close by,” said Chief Gibson.
Docksteader Paramedic Reporting Station is expected to be complete in early 2027.
“Breaking ground on the Docksteader paramedic reporting station is a day of shared progress in delivering a vital, life-saving service to Peel residents. It is an investment in a modern, forward-looking paramedic service that meets the evolving needs of a growing community. With the four other reporting stations, it further builds on a visible and trusted paramedic presence across Peel,” said Nando Iannicca, chair and CEO, Peel Region.
