Monte McNaughton, Ontario’s Minister of Infrastructure, has announced the appointment of four new provincial members to the Waterfront Toronto Board of Directors.
“I’m pleased to welcome these four new appointees to the Waterfront Toronto board,” McNaughton said. “They are highly qualified individuals. I know they will put the best interests of the people of Ontario at the centre of all their decisions.”
The new board members will immediately begin their one-year terms to ensure appropriate provincial oversight is upheld.
The new Waterfront Toronto Board of Directors are:
Andrew MacLeod – the President and CEO at Postmedia. Previously he was Senior Vice President and Managing Director for RIM Blackberry.
Patrick Sheils – the Co-President and Co-CEO at Laurentian Bank Securities. His career in financial markets has spanned more than 30 years and includes experience in both domestic and foreign institutions.
Kevin Sullivan – the Deputy Chairman and Co-Founder of GMP Capital Inc. Has overseen the growth and success of the business over the last 24 years. Prior to that he was a Director of First Marathon Securities and a lawyer in general practise in Calgary.

“I have consistently said that our government’s actions with respect to Waterfront Toronto will be guided by three principles: respect for taxpayer dollars, strong oversight and the protection of people’s privacy,” McNaughton said. “With their wide-ranging industry experience and expertise, these four individuals will bring additional oversight and accountability to Waterfront Toronto.”
Waterfront Toronto is the project manager for the $1.25-billion Port Lands Flood Protection and Enabling Infrastructure project.
