Infrastructure Ontario and Grandview Children’s Centre have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for teams to design, build and finance the Grandview Children’s Treatment Centre Redevelopment Project in Ontario’s Durham Region.

The request for qualifications is the first step in the process to select a team to help deliver the project. Submissions will be reviewed to shortlist teams with the design and construction experience, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity.

Shortlisted teams will then be invited to respond to a request for proposals, which is expected to be released in early 2021. Interested companies must register with merx.com to download the RFQ.

The vision for the new Grandview Children’s Centre is to support the seamless and coordinated provision of family-centred care for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs and their families. The new Grandview will be an open, welcoming and inclusive community based paediatric facility supporting an integrated mix of rehabilitation, medical and clinical services, education and research activities.

Once complete, Grandview will consolidate its existing main site in Oshawa and multiple satellite locations into the new purpose-built facility located on 5.6 acres of land donated by the Town of Ajax. Grandview will maintain three satellite locations to reduce extensive travel times for some clients and their families.
