Users of Route 132 in Quebec can now travel on a brand new 1.6-kilometre section in the Val-Brillant sector, in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

By spring 2022, a total of three kilometres of Route 132 will have undergone a complete reconstruction in the municipality, all in the axis of a new route. This project also includes the construction of a new railway overpass, the development of two new accesses, the improvement of drainage and the resurfacing of the old route 132 before the transfer of this portion to the Municipality.

“The opening of this new section is a significant step in the advancement of the reconstruction project for Route 132 in Val-Brillant,” stated François Bonnardel, Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Estrie region. “Ultimately, this large-scale project will increase the safety of users traveling on this crucial route between Quebec and the Maritimes.”

“It is one of the most important projects that the Val-Brillantoises and Val Brillantois will have seen in recent years and we are proud to collaborate to its realization,” added Jacques Pelletier, Mayor of Val-Brillant.
